Mindful Mondays are about paying attention to what you are paying attention to.
Taking time to be more mindful and present
Today’s post is about being more mindful. Mindfulness is not meditation, although meditation is one form of mindfulness. Mindfulness is simply paying attention without judgement. There are lots of ways to be mindful, which I’ll continue to share with you each Monday so that you can find one or more ways that work for you.
One of the ways I like to do this is by noticing something different when I go for a walk, even if taking a route I am completely familiar with. By doing this, I am focussing on the present and staying out of my head. Here’s a short 2.18 minute video that explains it better:
If you are getting overwhelmed or just need a regular mindfulness break, why not set an hourly (or whatever works for you) reminder on your calendar and have a look at the following link when the reminder comes up. The link lets you check out various animals in the zoo live and you can just spend a couple of minutes watching them whilst taking some deep breathes to reset your stress levels. The feeding times of each animal are listed, so you can use these to set you mindfulness breaks if that suits you.
