Australian Hedge Fund Operations Forum

The Australian hedge fund industry, like most of the investment industry, is subject to on-going regulatory and operational challenges and currently faces an unprecedented volume of domestic and global legal, regulatory, tax and other operational issues.

To assist the industry address these challenges, hedge fund forums have been established to enable Australian domiciled hedge fund managers and investment managers offering hedge fund products (irrespective of where their hedge funds are domiciled) the opportunity to meet on a regular basis to discuss the issues they are facing and enable sharing of information in a collaborative environment aimed at increasing the operational efficiency of the hedge fund industry and its participants.

Forums will be a mixture of manager only information exchanges, presentations, discussions, updates on industry topics including regulatory and tax issues, as well as formal presentations by guest speakers aimed at continuing to inform and educate hedge fund managers, institutional investors and hedge fund service providers.

General feedback on issues raised and how they are being dealt with, will be fed back to the hedge fund industry body Alternative Investment Managers Association (AIMA) Australia, with AIMA providing updates to the forums on some of its current projects and activities in Australia and overseas.
